Sunset Cottages Acadia
“Perfect location and setting! Perfect home base for a visit to Acadia National Park. Close enough to be convenient but far enough from the bustle of Bar Harbor to be peaceful and restful.”
— Lauren, Beverly, MA
“A little bit of paradise in Maine. We couldn’t agree more with all of the other rave reviews. This was just about the most perfect vacation we have had.”
— Terry & Dorothy, Jamestown, NY

At Sunset Cottages Acadia you can enjoy the beautiful views directly from your cottage window or porch. Or stroll through the open meadow down to the Maine shoreline and sit on the ledges. This is where you relish the peace and solitude, enjoying uninterrupted views of Blue Hill Bay and the tranquil sound of the water lapping against the rocks.
Enjoy preparing meals on the grill and eating at the picnic table provided with your cottage. Stretch out on the grass for a nap after your meal so you’re rested for the day’s other activities and adventures. Or simply sit back and gaze across the bay.

You’re just a stone’s throw away from all that Acadia National Park has to offer. It’s only five minutes to famous Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Thurston’s Lobster Pound, and five minutes more to seaside hikes at Wonderland, Ship Harbor, and Flying Mountain — not to mention all the shops and restaurants in the quaint town of Southwest Harbor.
A bit further down the road, you can swim in Echo Lake, kayak along the scenic coast, cycle on carriage roads, take a boat trip to nearby islands, eat popovers with jam at Jordan Pond House, drive the famous Park Loop Road, and stop for ice cream in Bar Harbor. It’s all close by.
